Float off Manda with lunch at Majlis (one of Anna’s favorites)

Enjoy a peaceful day away from the hustle and bustle of the village, casting around Simba Rongwe, beachcombing Manda, swimming in the turquoise shallows or simply floating onboard the dhow. Then depart for Manda, for a delicious lunch at the chic and very relaxed Beach Bar (Anna prefers the seating on the left as you approach the hotel from the water).

Lunch is paid separately to The Majlis). After a leisurely lunch, please arrange for our taxi boat, Tamra, to collect you from the restaurant (Manda Island transfer rates apply). Anna recommends spending the afternoon at The Majlis from where you can head straight into a Sunset Sail – that is a Lamu Island day in paradise!

2 hour excursion. $50 for up to 4 people, $20 for each extra person.

Sunset Sail, Beach BBQ followed by Moonlight or Starry Night sail

Set sail as the sun dips below the horizon then watch the moon rise over Manda Island whilst sailing in the channel or along the shores of Lamu and Manda. Sail from Shela through the channels to magical Manda Bay and spend the day in these beautiful waters. Take your lunch at the restaurant of the famous Manda Bay Lodge (please note that you will not be permitted on the island unless you have a confirmed lunch reservation, prices start from US$50 per person, drinks are not included). We will make the reservation on your behalf. Departure from Manda Bay is 3pm and the trip is also tide dependent as the channels dry out on spring tides.

Kipungani with lunch at The Cabanas

Sail from Shela through the channel to Kipungani and spend the day in these beautiful waters. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, along with sumptuous Swahili fish curries for larger groups.

A flat fee of $30 per person grants access to a delightful 2-course meal and the exclusive top deck restaurant with a rooftop pool (drinks are not included in this price). The bar operates throughout the day, offering a variety of beverages and the opportunity to partake in watersports activities.

We will handle the reservation on your behalf. Departure from The Cabanas is at 3pm.

    Full Day Boat Rental

Customise your own adventure and have one of our boats and our crew at your disposal for the entire day, with drinking water and sunset biting's included.

    $400 per day

  • While we do not sleep or cook on our boats, we offer transfers to Kiwayu. This can only be done at certain times of year (weather and wind dependent) and it is advisable you book this in advance as we partner on accommodation on the island - our favorites being The Baobabs of Kitangani and Mikes Camp. We recommend spending a few magical days on the island, having the dhow at your disposal throughout, whilst you sleep in the accommodation suggested above. It's a life changing experience! We also recommend NaiSabah for trips into the archipelago.

    Prices on request.
